A quiet village town – a sleeping Beauty one could say
Where God chose to put the splendour of His creation on display.
Sunset tints the mountains of sandstone in a golden glow,
A breath taking view when they’re covered in snow.
Some beautiful people came to this quiet sleepy town,
They liked it so much that they made it their own.
True to their impulsive nature they let their spirit go free,
Now there‘s so much to hear and so much to see.
They show us to break the barriers till there is no bond,
To reach for the sky or even a little beyond.
With so much of nature’s beauty and talent galore
No one could wish for anything more.
Named to honour a Governor’s wife Lady Eliza Grey,
Though rich in culture remains a humble town today.
A great place to host the Passion Play to glorify our King.
You don’t have to believe in angels to hear them sing.
The town came alive with the sound of music and song,
Lots of art every where, dance and play all along.
You are on the map but much more than just a name,
Lady Grey, you are on the road to fame!
Grey Lady. (Lina Swanepoel)
